Can I switch from monthly to annual billing?

Yes. You can switch to annual billing at any time from the Billing page in Workspace Settings. The switch takes effect at your next billing cycle. Switching from annual to monthly is only possible when your annual contract expires. Annual billing saves 17% on Pro ($1.50 per user per month) and is the only option for Business+.

Does Slack offer a nonprofit discount?

Yes. Eligible nonprofits receive an 85% discount on Slack Pro, which brings the cost down to approximately $1.31 per user per month with annual billing. Educational institutions also receive significant discounts. Apply through Slack's nonprofit program with proof of 501(c)(3) or equivalent status.

What happens if I downgrade from Business+ to Pro?

You lose access to SSO, SCIM provisioning, compliance data exports, custom retention policies, the 99.99% SLA, and advanced Slack AI features like translations and file summaries. Your message history and channels are preserved, but users will need to log in with email and password instead of SSO. Consider whether your compliance requirements allow this before downgrading.

Is Business+ available on monthly billing?

No. Business+ is only available with annual billing at $12.50 per user per month (billed as $150 per user per year). There is no monthly billing option for Business+. This is a significant constraint because it requires an upfront annual commitment that cannot be cancelled mid-term.

How does Slack storage work?

Storage is pooled across your workspace. Free plans get 5 GB total for the entire workspace. Pro gives 10 GB per member, Business+ gives 20 GB per member, and Enterprise+ gives 1 TB per member. If you exceed your storage limit, you can still send messages but cannot upload new files until you delete existing ones or upgrade your plan.
